About Homes 516

Raised on Long Island in Nassau County, we created Homes516 for our neighbors, future neighbors, and the REALTORs who help them find homes.

We wanted to make it easy for real estate agents to leverage the power of local search to present their premium listings to a hyper-targeted audience.

We also wanted to create a forum where individuals and families can not only shop for homes, but become immersed in the local culture. We want them to feel at home in our neighborhoods before they even pull up for the first showing.

Nassau County has so much to offer, and we are its biggest cheerleaders. Our goal is to highlight what a great place this is to live—no distractions, no shiny objects, no “Hey, I wonder what’s up in Suffolk …”

At Homes516, it’s all about Nassau County and what makes life here great:

  • Friendliness, diversity, and community spirit.
  • Clean streets and fresh air.
  • Fantastic dining, shopping, and cultural scene.
  • Great schools and stimulating museums.
  • Low crime rates.
  • Acres of white sand beaches.
  • Short train rides to New York City.

Listing a home on Homes516 gives real estate agents access to a smaller pool of focused, motivated buyers, as opposed to nationwide sites that expose you to a vast ocean of tire-kickers on a race to the bottom. Nassau County is an elite community—we’re proud of what we have built, and we want to let it show.

As residents of Nassau County, our goal is to build personal relationships with local real estate brokers. We aim to tailor our content for a discerning audience of upscale home buyers, highlighting local businesses and regional attractions.

We know the top school districts for families with various needs. We know what taxes and infrastructure improvements are on the horizon. We are a resource not just for home listings, but for critical breaking news about the community we serve.

Our nose for news sprang from our background in the publishing industry. We still publish newspapers and magazines for distribution throughout the greater New York metro.

We are launching Homes516 in partnership with Best of 516 and Nassau Events, a free lifestyle and cultural magazine to be distributed at local stores, venues, and libraries. Agents who list with Homes516 have a chance to leverage our publishing distribution network as well.

Our print and online marketing efforts enable us to:

  • Track local search trends.
  • Capture more leads.
  • Create locally relevant content.
  • Provide the agents with local SEO data.

We do this because we are invested in the stability and growth of Nassau County, as well as the future of communities across the entire New York metropolitan area.

The entire county is physically divided amongst the 3 towns: Hempstead, North Hempstead, and Oyster Bay, and the two cities, Long Beach and Glen Cove. In addition to two cities and three towns, Nassau County also contains 64 villages with their own elected officials, including a mayor and a village board.
